Does Omegle ban VPN?

Omegle is an online social platform that allows users to meet and interact with other users. The online platform was launched in 2009 in the United States of America. Originally, Omegle had only a text-chat feature that allow users to interact with one another.

Not until 2010, that the platform introduced the video chat feature. The platform was a success as it was able to pull about 150000 visits daily just after a month after launch.

Omegle does not require users to undergo any form of registration or verification before using its service. It identifies its users based on their device’s IP address. This IP address is also what Omegle restrict when they ban a user.

Does Omegle ban VPN?

A virtual private network (VPN) is an internet arrangement that helps users secure their public network on the internet by encrypting internet traffic and cloaking their identity.

Virtual private networks help internet users hide their online activities and data from other third parties. Omegle did not openly mention that it will block VPNs. However, when it identifies the presence of a VPN it displays “Error connecting”.
