On the app, you can follow other creators without contributing any of your work. On TikTok, users can become famous through viral videos; many teen TikTok stars have 100,000+ followers.
Does TikTok have 18+ content?
TikTok is changing the minimum age limit for live streams on its site; as a result, all live streams are now restricted to those 18 and older. Since adult content is still subject to the rules of the app, users should be aware that TikTok’s new 18+ restriction setting for live streams does not allow for the streaming of adult content.
As part of the guidelines, Tiktok stated that “We strive to create a platform that feels welcoming and safe. We do not allow nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit content on our platform. We also prohibit content depicting or supporting non-consensual sexual acts, the sharing of non-consensual intimate imagery, and adult sexual solicitation.”
In a blog post, Tiktok said this: “We plan to introduce a new way for creators to choose if they’d prefer to only reach an adult audience in their LIVE. For instance, perhaps a comedy routine is better suited for people over age 18. Or a host may plan to talk about a difficult life experience, and they would feel more comfortable knowing the conversation is limited to adults.”
