The Canon EOS R5 continues to be one of the greatest stills cameras overall and the best Canon camera for the majority of uses.
It has proven to be every bit the professional workhorse we had anticipated for two years after its release thanks to excellent focusing, incredibly quick burst shooting, and the added benefit of up to 8K video. Due to the recording restrictions at higher resolutions, if you’re specifically looking for a camera for video, this isn’t it.

How long will the Canon R5 last?
The R5 has the extra capacity it needs to power the electronic viewfinder thanks to the 2,130mAh battery, but inevitably, the battery life is much shorter than on a DSLR. With the screen, it is CIPA-rated for 320 shots per charge, or for 220 shots per charge with the EVF.
