The Canon EOS R5 is a full-frame mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that Canon formally unveiled on July 9, 2020, along with the EOS R6 with lesser resolution and several new RF mount lenses. While it is not the direct successor to any of Canon’s earlier mirrorless cameras, there are several definite enhancements and advantages over the EOS R, including a new DIGIC X engine and sensor, 8K video capture, a new autofocus system, and the capacity to film 10-bit color videos.  The Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens is an optional addition to the camera body.
