All of the main entries were created by Santa Monica, while the three side games were created by Ready at Dawn and Java ground/Sony Online Entertainment-Los Angeles.
Except for the mobile phone instalment, which was published by Sony Pictures Digital, all games were published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The Greek era of the franchise is represented by the first seven games.
The main trilogy consists of God of War 2005, God of War II 2007, and God of War III 2010; the first two were released on the PlayStation 2 and the third on the PlayStation 3.
Ascension 2013, a prequel, was also released for the PlayStation 3. Other games include Chains of Olympus (2008), Ghost of Sparta 2010, and Betrayal 2007 for mobile phones that supported the PlayStation Portable PSP and Betrayal 2007 for Java Platform, Micro Edition mobile phones Java ME.
The Norse era began with the 2018 instalment, also titled God of War and released in January 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and later Windows.
Is GTA V better than God of War?
While GTA 5 is an excellent game. The game has received critical acclaim. It is both time and money well spent. And, given that the game is now over two years old, it shouldn’t be that pricey.
The main deciding factor here, however, is genre. If you like action, adventure, and hack and slash, God of War 5 is the game for you.
