The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro doesn’t have the outrageous appearance of some other gaming laptops, but that’s not always a negative thing. It’s a stylish machine built of black aluminum, and its sophisticated appearances are advantageous when you might need to transition between an office and a LAN party.
Along with the understated appearance, there is a ton of connectivity. There are Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports on the left, which both handle DisplayPort and power transmission, and a full-size USB port on the right.
Two extra USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a third USB-C port, one of which is always on for device charging, are located on the back.
Comparing the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro to other laptops that can be used for both business and gaming, such as the Alienware x15 R2, reveals that it is an excellent bargain (opens in new tab).
At the time of writing, the entry-level Alienware costs $2,149 and £2,049, while the Core i7-12700H and RTX 3060 Lenovo costs $2,079 in the U.S. (opens in new tab) and £1,799 in the U.K.
The scenario is the same when you upgrade to the RTX 3070 Ti: the Lenovo is $2,599 and £1,899 while the Alienware leaps above $2,600 and $2,000.
Is Legion A good laptop?
The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro should be taken into consideration if you’re looking for a powerful laptop for gaming, computing, and programming at a reasonable price. It can be configured with 32 GB of memory and comes with fantastic graphics cores and superb processors.
Other than that, it’s a mixed bag. The Lenovo boasts a decent high-resolution display, lots of connectivity, and a comfortable keyboard, but its battery life is subpar and the chassis is heavy. Furthermore, workloads outside of the sRGB gamut cannot be handled by the display.
In the end, the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro gives plenty of power for programming, coding, and gaming at a reasonable price; however, if you’re looking for longevity or high-end elegance, you’ll need to seek elsewhere.
