Is Obsidian a AAA developer?

The term AAA developer in the video game industry refers to a large and well-known game publisher with a high-profile and high budget than other studio levels to create higher-selling, retailing games.

The title “AAA+” was used to refer to AAA-style games that gradually expanded their revenue through the usage of games-as-a-service techniques, much like massively multiplayer online games in the middle of the 2010s. In the indie gaming community, “III” titles have also been used to refer to high-production value video games.

Obsidian recognized New Vegas which was created in 2010 as a teaching tool because it was the studio’s first AAA project and it demonstrated how to handle quality control.

Is Obsidian a AAA developer?

Previously, no, but they now have funding from Microsoft. The release of The Outer Worlds was not a AAA title, but what they do next may be. It depends on the funding that the game has.
