The PlayStation has been able to gain much popularity over the years as compared to Microsoft’s Xbox. If we talk about the popularity of these devices, PS5 has the upper hand.
Sony was able to sell about 11 million units of this console in just 2021.
This show that more people do seem to want a PS5 but is PS5 actually better than Xbox or it is the other way around.
It is worth mentioning that after some generations where both consoles were defined by off-the-self mid-range hardware, the PS5 and the Xbox Series X both went back to custom elements.
Now that they both seem to have a lot in common, the question is, which one is better? It is not an easy question to answer but we’ll break down both systems and find the one that is the king here.
Is Xbox better than PS5?
Starting with their CPU, both devices come with the same kind of processor, a semi-custom Zen2 CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads.
The difference comes with their clock speed and it’s here that the Xbox Series X has a slight edge at least as documented.
The Xbox has a clock speed of 3.8ghz and the PS5 clocks at a 3.5 speed.
The Xbox also beats the PS5 when it comes to its GPU. With a 12.6 T-flops GPU, the Xbox Series X has a really impressive GPU. In another, case, the PS5 beats the Xbox series X when we talk of the speed of their SSD storage.
Moving on, both the Xbox series X and the PS5 have 16Gb GDDR6 RAM. With all these factors into consideration, it is clear that the Xbox series X is better than the PS5.
This leaves the question, why are a lot of people going for the PS5 instead of the Xbox?
