When Apple unveiled its MagSafe wireless charger with the iPhone 12 back in 2020, it completely altered the landscape of wireless charging. It distinguished itself from other businesses’ basic wireless pads and stands by having a wireless charger that firmly clamps on with magnets.
By using a variety of magnets in both the iPhone and the charger, the MagSafe wireless charging system claims to increase the effectiveness of wireless charging.
With such a slim and portable design, Apple can charge at 15W of wireless power because of these magnets, which allow the charging coils to align properly and reduce power losses through heat.
What phones can use MagSafe?
Only the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 Pro currently support MagSafe. These are the not iPhones that have MagSafe as of now. Both the iPhone 11 and any iPhones made before it do not support MagSafe.
