WHO INVENTED DOORDARSHAN?

DD also known as Doordarshan is one of the biggest broadcasting studios in Indian. It was founded by the Indian government on the September of 1959. The project was originally an experiment but was later extended to the city of Mumbai in 1972. At the time only seven cities in Indian had access to television service and Doordarshan was the sole provider up until 1975. Later in 1976, Doordarshan television service got separated from the radio service and placed under different management. This broadcasting service became the sole national broadcaster in 1982 after they live broadcasted the independence day

The broadcasting service was later divided into two main channels; DD National and DD News comprising of 46 studios and 21 television channels. The DD service expanded its broadcasting across 146 counties including the United Kingdom. Ramayan; one of DD channels, obtained the world`s record for the highest viewed entertainment programmed worldwide.
