Who invented Omegle?

Omegle is an online platform that allows users to interact with random strangers via video and chat. The social media platform was released on the 25th of March, 2009 in the United States of America.

Who invented Omegle?

The platform was designed and built by 18 years old Leif K-Brooks. The online social platform was originally launched with text-only chat until 2010 the video chat feature was added.

The incredible thing about Omegle is that it does not require users to register or verify their identity before using the platform. Omegle keeps track of user’s interests and preferences to enable them to locate and recommend other users with overlying interests.

The social media platform was a success as it was pulling 150000 users every day after a month of release. The online platform keeps adding more features such as “Spy Mode” which allows users to input questions for a discussion with another user.

In 2013, Omegle added the unmonitored feature for users above 18 years. The unmonitored section does not censor sexual and pornographic materials. Omegle restricts users who are against the terms and conditions of its operation.
