Apple Inc. developed, produced, and sold handsets under the names iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. They are the sixteenth generation of iPhones, replacing the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini, and were unveiled alongside the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max flagships on September 7, 2022, at the Apple Event in Apple Park in Cupertino, California.

The 6.1-inch (15 cm) and 6.7-inch (17 cm) displays, upgraded rear cameras, and satellite connectivity are all included in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, respectively. iOS 16 was released along with the release of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus on September 16 and October 7, 2022, respectively.

On September 9, 2022, preorders for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus opened. The iPhone 13 Mini has been replaced in Apple’s lineup with the iPhone 14 Plus. Since the iPhone 8 Plus in 2017, this is the first iPhone to once again use the “Plus” designation.

Since the CDMA version of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus versions (as well as the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models) released in the US do not support physical SIM cards, making them the first iPhone models to do so.

Will the iPhone 14 have a SIM card slot?

The new iPhone 14 series won’t come with a traditional SIM card slot in the US. Apple is instead making a complete switch to eSIM technology. While some iPhone users could already be using eSIM, the majority have not. However, this varies in other nations, such as the UK and China.
