Apple Inc. created and sells Apple TV, a digital media player and handheld console. It is a tiny piece of network appliance hardware that outputs audio and video from received media files to a television or other external display.
It has been an HDMI-compliant source device since the second generation model, and in order for it to work, it must be connected to a high-definition or widescreen television using HDMI.
Do you need a 4K TV for Apple 4K?
To view content at a 4K resolution on the Apple TV 4K, a compatible 4K screen is required. Additionally, features like Dolby Vision require a TV that supports Dolby Vision.
The HDMI cable needed to connect the Apple TV 4K to a television is not included. Because Apple TV lacks built-in controls, it can only be operated remotely via an Apple Remote, a Siri Remote, or some other infrared remotes.
Apple TV has been running tvOS with a number of pre-installed software programs since the fourth generation model. Local media sources, streaming media services, TV Everywhere-based services, sports journalism, and broadcasts are just a few of its media offerings.
Due to the Apple TV’s failure, Apple focused less on it at a special presentation in March 2019. Instead, they introduced Apple TV+ and Apple TV Channels a la carte in order to increase income.
