Once everything is set up, you can use the band as intended without using your parent device. Once you are within 30 feet of the device, it will continue to gather data (such as pace, distance, calories burned, etc.), store it locally, and sync it to your parent device. The automatic background synchronization eliminates an additional degree of difficulty.
Can you use Fitbit without internet?
Fitbit products don’t need to be connected to the internet constantly. You can take it anywhere, including the most hostile setting, and it will still function as it should. To sync the data with the Fitbit web server, the parent device must be connected to the internet.
