There is no built-in speaker on Garmin watches. You are required to use earbuds, but I suppose I could have also purchased a small portable speaker. I dislike jogging with my ears covered when I’m outside running.
Because of this, I can hear the gurgling brooks in the woods and the cars speeding down our curvy country roads. I didn’t need to wear earphones when using the Wear OS watch because I could play music on the speaker and receive audio notifications.
Does Garmin Venu Sq have sound?
Yes, the device has a sound but you should be connected to a Bluetooth device first. You’ll need a Bluetooth audio device of some sort in order to play music. This can be a Bluetooth speaker or possibly a pair of headphones.
If you choose, you can connect or save more than one pair of headphones or gadgets, such as a pair of athletic headphones and another set of non-sporty ones.
You will be prompted to do this automatically in the music menu, but you can also manage headphones in the sensors menu (the same menu as you would manage heart rate monitor straps).
When you’re ready to play music, there are several ways to access the music controls, including a shortcut button, the controls menu, or the music widget. You can select the playlist you want and skip songs once you’re there.
Additionally, you may shuffle, repeat, and other play order options, as well as play/pause, volume, and other settings. This is usable in standard smartwatch mode during and after a workout (such as sitting at your desk).
