Does OnePlus 7 has pop up camera?

Even I voiced skepticism when the first OnePlus 7 Pro renders with what looked to be a pop-out camera mechanism appeared online. Even from a purely mechanical standpoint, it seemed foolish to place externally-located moving parts on a phone that is prone to so much harm.

However, I am not afraid to say that I was entirely wrong. It appears that OnePlus’ forthcoming high-end “Pro” phone will not have a pop-up selfie camera, which has already been shown to be an excellent idea.

The merits of a pop-out camera are controversial but pretty obvious: currently, it is the only option to produce a camera- and bezel-free, all-screen smartphone.

Given the types of changes we’ve witnessed over the past couple of years with under/in-screen camera designs and the shift from 2018’s notch to “hole-punch” cameras, there isn’t really any objective benefit to that other than a little bit of extra screen space, but I think it’s a much more attractive appearance and the ultimate goal of modern smartphone design.

While not necessarily “better,” a full-screen design devoid of camera cutouts and notches is significantly more aesthetically pleasing.

Does the OnePlus 7 has a pop-up camera?

Yes, the pop-up mechanism on the OnePlus 7 Pro was rated to last for around 300,000 cycles, which is a significant amount. The mechanism will only last you four years, which is a little longer than most people retain a phone, assuming you unlock your phone 100 times every day (using the pop-up camera for facial recognition) and shoot an additional 100 selfies each day on top of that.

That amount approaches nine years with more practical use (90 actions each day).

I had to look very hard to find any instances of the system failing, despite the fact that variability and elementary statistics will inevitably lead to some failures occurring before (and after) these rated amounts. It doesn’t appear like durability is a problem.

Heck, someone even used one to open a bottle without any obvious negative consequences, but I wouldn’t advise it.
