I would like to remind you that users can only use the Remote Desktop Session Host role for a 120-day assessment term (evaluation license) after it has been installed, and they are then unable to connect to an RDS host.
All users or devices that make use of RDS capabilities must be licensed in accordance with Microsoft licensing regulations. There is a distinct Windows service named Remote Desktop License Server in the RDS role that is used to register and distribute Remote Desktop Client Access Licenses (RDS CALs).
How do I activate my CAL license?
Open the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager on the license server (often the very first RD Connection Broker). Click Install licenses from the context menu by selecting the license server.
On the welcome page, select Next. Click Next after selecting the program from which you purchased your RDS CALs.
