The Get-RDLicenseConfiguration cmdlet collects the most recent configurations for the licensing mode of the Remote Desktop deployment as well as the Remote Desktop Licensing (RD Licensing) server.
Each device or user needs a Remote Desktop Services client access license (RDS CAL) to connect to a Remote Desktop Session Host (RD Session Host) server. RD Licensing servers maintain these RDS CALs.
When attempting to connect to Windows Server via Remote Desktop Connection, the error “No remote desktop licensing server available” is frequently encountered.
Even though prior connections to the server were successful and the RDSH server has not changed, the error indicates that the client is unable to establish a remote desktop connection to the server.
How do I find my Remote Desktop license server?
Click Start > Administrative Tools > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Licensing Manager to launch the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager.
Click Activate Server from the shortcut menu when you right-click the licensing server.
