How do you stop OLED Burns?

OLED is an acronym that stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode. Because the materials used to make these panels are organic, they degrade over time. Because OLED is a self-emitting technology, no backlight is required. Each pixel produces its own light, which gradually fades over the life of a product.

This gradual degradation of pixels is referred to as OLED burn-in or permanent image retention. Burn-in is not limited to OLED displays; CRTs, LCDs, and plasmas are all susceptible.

Permanent image retention on OLED displays is caused by the uneven degradation of the pixels that make up the display. It happens when a specific set of pixels degrades at a different rate than the pixels around them.

Systemized or graphics on a screen contribute significantly to this problem. Logos displayed in the corner of some TV channels, rolling news banners, or the area where the scoreboard appears when watching sports are examples of this.

Lower the brightness. Keeping your brightness level in the 45-50 range will reduce the strain on your TV’s pixels and help them last longer.
