Disney Plus, as the name implies, is The Walt Disney Company’s streaming service. It was founded in November 2019 and now has nearly 130 million subscribers worldwide.

It primarily distributes the corporation’s films and television shows, but it also has dedicated content hubs for brands such as Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and others.

Disney has dabbled in streaming for several years, with the UK launching DisneyLife in 2015, but Disney Plus is the company’s most comprehensive offering. The service was announced in 2018 and will go live in 2019.

It began in the United States and will gradually spread to Western Europe and certain Asia-Pacific countries by early 2020. Later, Eastern Europe and Latin America followed.

It is, in effect, a one-stop shop for all things Disney, but its combination of other Disney-owned franchises such as Star Wars and Marvel means it has a lot of extremely popular content. It also includes some Fox content, including the vast majority of The Simpsons episodes.

For users who want more from their service, Disney has arranged bundle deals with ESPN+ and Prime video.
