Roblox is a free game to play, and Robux, the in-game currency, may be used to make in-game purchases. As of August 2020, more than 164 million individuals utilized Roblox each month, including more than half of all American children under the age of 16.
Roblox has received mostly positive reviews from critics, however, it has been under fire for its exploitation of children, microtransactions, and moderation.
Roblox enables users to create their own games that can be played by other users by utilizing its own engine, Roblox Studio. Luau, an open-source, object-oriented programming language built on the Lua platform, is used to develop games.
These are referred to by the company as “experiences.” Users have the ability to create content that can be acquired multiple times through “developer products” or “products,” which are microtransactions, and once through “game passes” or “products.” Roblox Studio is used to generate 20 million games annually, the majority of which are made by kids.
Is Roblox available on Switch?
As there is currently no official port or app for the game from the makers, Roblox cannot be played on any Nintendo Switch model. Although you can view Roblox.com using the Switch’s web browser mode, you can’t download the software or play any of the games that are offered there.
