It’s the latest addition to Google’s popular A-series, which has been a driving factor in the Pixel’s success over the years. Each new Pixel A phone has followed a similar formula: stick to the basics as much as possible, offer a design similar to the current Pixel flagship, and offer a significant photographic advantage over the competition, all while charging a low price.
Google changes the formula slightly with the 6a. It has the high-end design and simplistic experience you’d expect from a phone of this caliber, but it also includes the same Google Tensor processor as the more expensive Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, bringing flagship-level performance to a $449 device.
The camera, on the other hand, suffers from a quality drop when compared to the standard Pixel 6, which is unusual for the A series. Certainly, the Pixel 6a is a unique Google mid ranger.
