When all is said and done, the Xbox One S should be viewed primarily as a scaled-down version of the Xbox One with a mildly updated controller and 4K display support.
It will not transport you to a cutting-edge gaming experience. Pragmatically, you’re probably better off purchasing an older Xbox One, which is now on sale at rock-bottom prices.
However, if you’re purchasing an Xbox One for the first time, are interested in the bundled games, and aren’t saving up for 2017’s Project Scorpio, the One S is a good all-around gaming and entertainment deal.
Smaller, cleaner design: For starters, it’s 40% smaller, which is impressive given that its power supply is now internal. It’s also all white, with slick plastic mouldings flanking the entire box. I believe it is Microsoft’s best-looking Xbox ever.
Is the Xbox One still worth it?
The Xbox One S is priced at $300, while the more powerful Xbox One X is priced at $500. There’s also a $250 All-Digital Xbox One S without a disc drive. Because the original Xbox One is much older, it is no longer worth considering.
However, an Xbox One device at these prices is unlikely to be found right now.
