Located in Bellevue, Washington, Bungie is a multinational developer of video games. Sony Interactive Entertainment is the studio’s owner. In May 1991, Alex Seropian founded the business.

After releasing Jason Jones’ game Minotaur: The Labyrinths of Crete, Seropian later hired Jones as a programmer. The company, which was initially based in Chicago, Illinois, focused on Macintosh games in its early years and produced the Marathon and Myth video game series, both of which were wildly popular.

Oni was created by a subsidiary company called Bungie West and released in 2001. Take-Two Interactive, who at the time owned 19.9% of the company, also owned the game at the time.
