Starting in June 1993, when its shares were originally listed, the promoters’ stake progressively decreased over time. On March 11, 1999, Infosys became the first Indian-registered firm to list Employee Stock Options Schemes and ADRs on NASDAQ, significantly reducing the promoters’ interests.

The promoter held 12.95% as of July 29, 2021, while foreign institutional investors FIIs held 33.39% and domestic institutional investors DIIs held 21.98%.

As of 2021, Infosys has a total of 259,619 workers known as Edition, of whom 38.6% were women. 229,658 of its overall employees are software experts, with the remaining 13,796 working in support and sales. In 2016, India accounted for 89% of its employment.
