If you’re willing to spend more, there’s also the Asus ROG Strix G15 G513, which matches Lenovo’s core components for £1699 / $1999 / €1999.
Lenovo’s machine does not appear to be a gaming laptop. The lid and body are made of matte black metal and plastic, with no odd angles or RGB LEDs – just an extended section at the back to house additional cooling gear.
The only gaming-friendly design is the Legion logo on the lid, which has a lovely iridescent sheen.
The understated design is unsurprising from a company with Lenovo’s business pedigree, and neither is the decent build quality. The Legion is tough in every way and easily meets the challenge of travelling between bags, rooms, and bedrooms.
