Halo: Combat Evolved, which was initially planned to be a third-person shooter game for Windows and Macintosh, was unveiled by Bungie in 1999. The public debut of Halo took place during Steve Jobs’ 1999 keynote talk at Macworld Expo (after a closed-door screening at E3 in 1999).

Microsoft announced that it had bought Bungie on June 19, 2000, the ninth anniversary of the company’s creation and that Bungie would join the Microsoft Game Division.

The first-person shooter game Halo would be created exclusively for the Xbox. Bungie chose to accept Microsoft’s offer for a variety of reasons. “I don’t remember the details clearly; it was all a fog,” said Jones.

Will Bungie ever take back Halo?

Due to their lack of resources, Bungie originally sold themselves to Microsoft. Following Halo 2, Bungie intended to put Halo behind them, but they were obligated by contract to continue developing games.

When they finished Reach, they decided to build Destiny, which they later purchased from Microsoft.

Now that Sony owns them, they are not only no longer interested in producing Halo, but they are now owned by a rival. Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of Reach, but I understand that opinion has changed since the game’s debut.

Although it had many problems, they are now just ignored because it wasn’t as severe as H4 and H5.
