At what percentage should I unplug my phone? With the current effectiveness of smartphones in executing tasks that once require the use of computers, we are left with the option of how to optimize our battery health to ensure the vitality of our devices.

A lot of people have complained that the battery health deteriorates rapidly if left on charge for a long time. However, the lithium-ion batteries we normally have in our devices are basically expected to deteriorate over time as they become less and less effective over the days.

There is no known percentage that you are expected to unplug your phone to ensure the longevity of your battery. However according to Mr Isdor Buchmann; the CEO of Candex Electronics, one of the companies that are in charge of designing and creating battery management tools.

It is not advisable to charge your battery fully, this is because lithium-ion batteries don’t prefer to be warm and charged to the max.

It is rather advisable to charge Lithium-ion batteries over short periods rather than allowing them to completely drain out before charging them fully. The worse thing that can affect your battery longevity is having it fully charged and warm altogether.

It is therefore advised to have your phone charged up to around 80 per cent and also not have it drained below 20 per cent.
