An eSIM, as opposed to a physical SIM card, is a SIM that’s already embedded into a device. If you have a dual SIM device with an active plan on a physical SIM and on an eSIM you can use both plans at once by allowing your device settings to select which plan you want to use when making calls, sending texts or browsing the internet using data. If you’re actively on a call using one of the plans, any calls directed to your other SIM will be redirected to your voicemail.

However, you’re using an eSIM but your phone does not support dual SIM service, you have to make sure that physical SIM is ejected from your phone to allow the eSIM to operate.
