With the early releases to the series 3 Apple watches, it is not advisable to be getting the device into water, like wearing it to the shower. Even with the more recent versions that have better water protection, it is not still advisable.

A lot of Apple users turn to leave their watches on charge overnight to get a full battery by the morning. With this practice, there are fears of the watch overcharging which may cause damage to the watch. In this article, we’ll see whether you can actually overcharge your Apple Watch Series 3.

Can you overcharge Apple Watch Series 3?

You cannot overcharge your Apple Watch Series 3. The device is able to stop the charging process if the battery reaches the required percentage. It will only continue charging when the battery drops due to usage by the system apps. If you continue to leave your Apple Watch on charge even after the battery becomes full, there will be no issue of overcharging.

This does not mean you should leave the device on charge even after noticing that the battery is full. This may put pressure on your device’s battery as it is not being allowed to work properly.
