Screen protectors are protective layer(s) made of glass, plastic or mixture that are put on top of your phone’s screen to keep it safe. They come in many forms and types depending on what you want from them. For the most part, they are designed to protect your phone from dings, scratches and other forms of wear and tear as you continue to use the phone on the daily. In case of an accidental fall or something accidentally falls on it, the screen protector especially tempered glass ones, acts as a shock absorber, preventing an otherwise nasty crack that might take several dollars to repair or replace. They even protect it from accidental spills of water or any other liquid onto your phone. They are water and dust resistant.
Screen protectors are necessary. If you do not want to spend money repairing or replacing your phone after cracks from accidental falls, a slip or generally just destroying your screen and phone up, you should get a screen protector.

Even though you can most use your phone without a screen protector, it’s in the best interest of you, your phone and your pocket to get a screen protector.

Do screen protectors affect touch sensitivity?

In most cases, good-tempered glass should not impact sensitivity. However, there is some screen protectors that may slightly interfere with your phone’s touch sensitivity, but this interference is not such that you can’t use your phone.
