Starlink is one of the newest companies seeking to provide internet access to people on the globe (in remote areas) and beyond. Starlink uses satellite technology to provide this internet access.
The owner of Starlink, Elon Musk also is known to have great ambitions to have his company transcend beyond the earth’s surfaces.
After three years’ worth of successful launches, the Starlink project had surpassed 1,000 satellites delivered into orbit.
One year and dozens of successful launches later, Starlink boasts more than 2,000 functional satellites orbiting overhead.
Musk’s company also disclosed that Starlink was serving more than 10,000 customers at the beginning of this year.
Do you have to pay for Starlink?
Starlink currently costs $99 a month. In addition to this, you’ll also have to pay a one-time $499 fee for the Starlink satellite dish and Wi-Fi router, which the company will ship directly to your home.
Starlink has also introduced a Premium Starlink service, which offers faster speeds and steadier connections at $500 a month, and another $2,500 one-time fee for the Premium Starlink dish, mainly targeted at businesses.
