Apple watches come with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. These batteries are able to charge at a very fast and steady rate. They also last longer than most battery technologies available in the market. More also, they have a higher power density that gives the battery long battery life.

The reason I think Apple chose this kind of battery technology for the Apple watch was mainly the lightweight package. Imagine a higher battery in the Apple watch, people will suffer wrist pains from wearing those watches.

As the love for the simplicity of the Apple watches rises, a lot of people now prefers to wear the watch full time during the day and then charge it overnight with the wireless charging pad.

They leave it on the charger throughout the night in the hope that by morning, it is rejuvenated and ready for go.

Does it hurt to leave Apple Watch on the charger?

Leaving the Apple watch on charge will hurt when your device overheats and melts the charger panel on the watch. This is not a pleasant feeling at all.

Even though the battery stops charging when the battery reaches maximum capacity, the charger panel keeps emitting electrical currents that cause the watch’s charger panel to become heated and melt off the device.

More also, the fact that you have to leave your Apple Watch while it charges actually hurts as most of the users become attached to the device.
