The debate between MacBook and windows laptops has been in the system for more than a decade. This debate centres around how fast they are, their resolutions, durability and reliability.

Most of the answers to whether one is better than the other boil down to what you personally want or desires from a laptop. It can also boil down to what you decide to do with the laptop and how heavily you task this.

However, there are a few other points of interest to consider when judging which laptop is best in general.

Does MacBook last longer than windows?

Even though the life expectancy of a Macbook and that of a Windows PC cannot be determined exactly. On average, it has been noted that MacBooks tend to last longer than windows PCs.

MacBooks can give you a solid 7 years and even more if treated properly while windows will do about 5 years top. MacBooks last so long because Apple ensures that their Mac systems are optimized to work together, making MacBooks run more smoothly for the duration of their lifetime.

Windows PCs however, are made of parts that are designed from various manufacturers. Sometimes, these parts may run into compatibility issues, ultimately shortening their lifespan as the years go on.

While Windows users have reported that on average their laptops have lasted roughly 2 – 4 years, they also cite a number of issues ranging from external components to various internal hardware/software issues.

Meanwhile, MacBook users who report that their MacBook is having issues after years of usage usually complain about external components, not the operating systems.
