Apple AirTag provide extra security for your luggage to avoid theft and loss. Much like most trackers, AirTag use Bluetooth to track the location of the luggage it’s attached to.
And unlike most tracker, it also uses precision tracking. This is due to the embedded system in Apple’s iOS along with its Find my app.
Your iPhone needs to be within 33 feet to connect to any Bluetooth device, including what is embedded in the AirTag. However, due to the precision tracking and the Find My app, you can track to know the general location of your AirTag. With this information, you can then move toward the identified area and follow the direction to get closer to the AirTag. However, this only works if the appropriate settings for finding the
AirTag in case it’s misplaced is in place.
Regardless of this, the actual operating distance for an AirTag is 10 meters. The AirTag also comes with an ultra-wideband system which along with the Find My app can provide you with a pretty accurate location of your AirTag, helping you where Bluetooth may be lacking.
