The urge to provide the world with global internet connectivity with high-speed internet has fueled the race to space and the use of satellites to provide them. Companies such as SpaceX, Amazon, Google, Facebook, and SoftBank are all competing to provide humans with that technology advancement to allow communication in even the most remote area.

SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, provides satellite internet services through Starlink to people in a remote area in certain parts of the word, gradually edging to go global.

OneWeb launched several decades ago have also set satellites into orbit in hopes of providing people with connectivity in even the most distant land.

Starlink’s mission is to build a low-cost, satellite-based broadband network that is capable of delivering high-speed internet access to people all across the globe.

Starlink has however taken steps that ensure that its operation and maintenance costs of the satellites are set to the minimum by building and launching them internally.

OneWeb however collaborates with several other companies, after its bankruptcy, in other to launch its satellites.

Is OneWeb better than Starlink?

Though both OneWeb and Starlink have the mission to deliver global connectivity through a global satellite constellation connecting everyone all over the globe; Starlink’s strategy of minimizing the cost of their operation has served in how reliable people find their network, the cost of using their network and the level of subscriptions they have.

Due to this, when it comes to the race between Starlink and OneWeb, Starlink is leading and can be considered better than OneWeb, especially as Starlink has more satellites in space than OneWeb thereby providing faster connectivity.
