The Samsung Galaxy S5 was officially launched in 2014 after its predecessor Samsung Galaxy S4. It came with the Android 4 KitKat software and was promised 2-3 years of security update support. Samsung Galaxy S5 had features like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, fingerprint scanner, Ultra power saving mode, water-resistant and Samsung S Health were the new features introduced in the device.

Is Samsung Galaxy S5 Still Supported?

Right now, Samsung mobile has stopped supporting the Galaxy S5 device. The phone received its final update for the Android 6 in April 2016. It’s now an outmoded device but not forgotten by some users. The device has lived its usefulness with its super-powerful processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon). Its Android 4,5 and 6 operating system is no longer supported as well and it is vulnerable to malicious attacks and hacks.

Though it functions normally for text messaging, calls, and photos, some apps may not fully function as they may no longer support the devices. You can make use of the S5 as a WIIFI  device or backup storage or any other thing that may useful for you. Service providers like AT&T no longer support Galaxy S5 as it now has to support devices with 4G and 5G. 3G is totally outmoded but still serves in some parts of Africa.
