Is There An Airdrop For Android?

Is-There-An-Airdrop-For-Android?-

Airdrop is a feature rolled out by Apple Inc. in 2011 to allow MacBooks and IPhones to transfer files within a close range by means of wireless communication.

This feature is convenient as it allows you to send a large number of files (Videos, Pictures) without the use of an internet connection but by means of a wireless connection. This feature does not extend to Android devices.

Later in 2020, Google released the Android version of Airdrop called the Nearby Share. This feature functions exactly like the Airdrop.

Nearby Share is only available for phones operating on Android 6.0 and upwards. It allows android devices to share files with each other and it does not extend to iPhones.
