Is Ubisoft owned by EA? Ubisoft is well known for the publishing of video games. The company started as far back as 1986. At its’ dawn, the company was focused on publishing games developed by other companies in France. It was later in 1990s that they decided to develop and publish their own games. Since then, the company develops and publishes their own games. Ubisoft is directed by their ceo Yves Guillemot, one of the brothers that founded the company.

Electronic Art (EA) is a company that shares a lot of similarities with Ubisoft. They or also known for the development of video games. The company was founded by William M. Trip Hawkins in 1982. The CEO of this company is Andrew Wilson. The company has its’ headquarters in Redwood City, California. EA has bought a lot of other video game developing companies around the world. In this article, we’ll find out if they own Ubisoft too.

Is Ubisoft owned by EA?

EA does not own Ubisoft. Even though they are a stake holder in the company, this is not a ground to warrant them as owners of the Ubisoft company. As per financial reports, in 2004, Electronic Arts (EA) bought 19.9% stake into Ubisoft. Later in 2010, it sold out 14.8% stake out again.

In conclusion, EA does not own Ubisoft.
