What company owns Ubisoft? Ubisoft is a video games publishing company that began in France in 1986. They began by distributing games from other countries to France. Later in the 1990s, they began to create their own games thereby creating their satellite offices around the world.

Ubisoft gained prominence early for their support of online games, something most of their games are still focused on today. They began to buy other companies and properties to expand their fields. They bought the rights to the popular Myth king games and the Prince of Persia games.

Their games are all over the place, Xbox, play stations, and Nintendo consoles. While speaking of their wild success, let’s talk about who makes all this possible. Who or what company owns Ubisoft.

The company was started by five brothers, Yves Guillemot Christian Guillemot, Gerard Guillemot, Michael Guillemot, and Claude Guillemot. The company started as a farmers’ support company and evolve gradually into its current state. The ownership of the company has been in the family line ever since.

There has been no recorded change in ownership therefore, this leaves the conclusion that the company is owned by the family of the five brothers. The Guillemot family. Is Ubisoft losing money?
