What does * 66 do on a phone?

Dialing this code in your phone’s dial pad activated a service known as busy return call.

Take is that you have been trying to call a certain phone number but the user seems busy. More also you don’t have the luxury of time to keep calling until the number goes through. That is where this code comes in handy. This code will automatically monitor the busy number continuously for 30 minutes. Once the number becomes free to receive your call, your own cell phone will ring to notify you. Once you also hit the answer button, the phone will now place a call to the person you have been trying to reach.

To activate a busy return call, once you call a phone number and notice that that number is busy, hang up and dial the code, *66. This service will now monitor the recently called number and notify you once that number becomes free to receive calls. To deactivate busy call return after the call, dial *86.

I find this code to be very helpful during busy hours. It is not a subscription, therefore, requires no fee to be able to carry out this function. It should also be noted that this code may not work in some countries.
