What Is The Dot On Movado Watches Made Of?

What-Is-The-Dot-On-Movado-Watches-Made-Of?-

A lot of people identify Movado watches by the single dot on at 12 o’clock noon but how many actually knows the story around it?

We all know that Movado was started in 1881 by Achilles Ditesheim a young 19 years old boy, when he hired 6 watchmakers and opened a small shop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Later in the year 1905, the company received the name it’s currently known by, Movado, which means “always in motion” in the international Esperanto language.

Movado has also been noted for creating a Calendomatic model that displays the month, day, and date. It was later in 1947 when Movado then introduced the single-dot dial that is now known as the Movado museum dial. That mysterious single dot at 12 o’clock of Movado watches. The dot symbolizes the high sun at 12 o’clock noon.

What Is The Dot On Movado Watches Made Of?

As surprising as it may occur to you, the dot at 12 o’clock of all Movado watches is a mostly genuine diamond. Others are made from gold and other minerals. Wondering why the watch cost as high as it does, now, you’ve got it.

Even though there are contemplations on whether the dot on all Movado watches is diamond, as far as my knowledge goes, they are all expected to be genuine diamonds except they were not designed by Movado but frauds.
