SpaceX is a privately-owned aerospace manufacturing company based in America. The company provides transport services and internet services through their satellites under the name of Starlink.

In the US, SpaceX has its headquarters in Hawthorne, California and several other regional offices in Houston, Texas; Chantilly, Virginia; and Washington, D.C. and even opened an office in the Seattle region in 2014 from which it heavily recruiting engineers and software developers.

SpaceX designs manufacture and launch the world’s most advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in 2000 by Elon Musk and launched its first crafts about a decade later.

In 2010, SpaceX became the first privately funded company in history to send a spacecraft into orbit and return it safely to Earth. Then in May 2012, SpaceX had its Dragon spacecraft become the first commercial vehicle to successfully attach to the International Space Station, something previously accomplished only by powerful governments.

In October 2012 and March 2013, Dragon also successfully delivered cargo to and from the space station in its first two official cargo resupply missions for NASA.

What is the purpose of SpaceX?

The company was founded to revolutionize space transportation by making it more affordable, with the ultimate goal of making life multi-planetary through the colonization of other livable planets like Mars.
