What is Uber Eats. Uber Eats is a food delivery company founded by Garrett Camp and Travis Kalanick in the year 2009. In August 2014 the company started food delivery under the name UberFresh in Santa Monica, California and it was later renamed as UberEats in the year 2015.

Foods are ordered through their own app or application making them stand apart from the Uber rides.
In the year 2016 Uber Eats started its food delivery in London and in Paris respectively.

In August 2018, Uber Eats cancelled their flat rate delivery fee to a rate that is determined by the distances covered. In Ireland and the United Kingdom, the delivery fee is determined by the value of the order made.

As part of its expansion, Uber Eats opened a virtual restaurant in the United Kingdom into the foreign market. The virtual restaurant is sometimes called a cloud restaurant or cloud kitchen which has staff to prepare and deliver food.

In the year 2018, the company decided to expand their operations and workforce in its European market. As of November 2018, the company had started deliveries in 200 cities within 20 countries in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) market.

Currently, Uber Eats has served 45 countries, 6,000 + cities with a revenue of $4.80 billion as of the year 2020.
