Space Exploration Technologies Corporation popularly known as SpaceX is a privately owned American aerospace manufacturer which provides among others, space transportation services, and a communications corporation that is based in Hawthorne, California.

The company SpaceX was founded in 2002 with the sole purpose of reducing space transportation costs to enable the colonization of planet Mars.

In line with this, SpaceX manufactures the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launch vehicles, several rocket engines, Cargo Dragon, crew spacecraft, and Starlink communications satellites which has been garnering its own network of support by merits.

Among other things, SpaceX’s achievements include the first privately funded liquid-propellant rocket designed to reach orbit around Earth. It is also the very first private company to successfully launch, orbit, and recover a spacecraft.

Again, SpaceX is the first private company to send a spacecraft to the International Space Station and the first vertical take-off and vertical propulsive landing for an orbital rocket. It is further the first to have a reusable orbital rocket, and the first private company to send astronauts to orbit and to the International Space Station.

Who owns SpaceX?

SpaceX was founded and ended by Elon Musk Trust. He has about 47.4% in equity and apparently about 78.3% voting controls in the company.
