Movado is an American watchmaking company. It is best known for its Museum Watch. Movado means “always in motion” in Esperanto (an artificial language).
Movado has a variety of timepieces in its collection. Notable among the Movado brands are Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger, Scuderia Ferrari, Rebecca Minkoff, etc.
Most watches are water-resistant. But no watch has a 100% guarantee of being waterproof. A water-resistant watch has gaskets. The gasket with the crown and crystal helps seal the case against average water pressure at a stated pressure.
Are Movados Waterproof?
All Movados are tested to meet international standards for water resistance. However, unless the watch is labelled as a diver’s watch, there is no guarantee of waterproof.
However. Movado Watches have seals that are designed to withstand splashes of water and rain. Activities such as swimming, showering, or bathing with Movado’s are not recommended unless it is designed for such purposes.
Steam, soap, saltwater, perfume can get into the watch, and if not cleaned immediately, could damage the seals and break down over time.
It is advisable not to allow dust or moisture to penetrate the case. Since this can damage the moving components of the watch.
