Straight Talk and Tracfone are both budget carriers leasing bandwidths from giant telecommunications companies like Verizon and AT&T.
They are known as MVNOs (mobile virtual network operators). Due to that, they do not own or operate cell towers. As already stated, they lease space on big networks, pay them for their service but then operate their business autonomously, setting their own prices for their customers.
Even so, they all operate with the same basic mode. The only difference is, budget carriers like TracFone and Straight Talk are more budget-friendly and definitely easier on the pocket.
Is Straight Talk Same As Tracfone?
Though Straight Talk is owned by Tracfone, the two are not the same. They have different plans, different targets audience and different prices for their product.
Where Tracfone offers smaller plans for text, calls and data designed to cut down on your phone bill, Straight Talk offers a more expensive but extensive package for those who desire more.
