American Telephone and Telegraph Company, now known as AT&T is one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies.

It is also one of the largest providers of mobile telephone services in the U.S. In fact, in 2020, AT&T was ranked 9th on the Fortune 500 rankings of the largest United States corporations. It had a whopping revenue of $181 billion, no doubt the figure soaring due to the pandemic.

The company was formerly known as SBC communications but later changed its name to AT&T after some structural reorganization in 2005. For the most part of the 20th century, AT&T had a monopoly on phone services in the United States.

AT&T is now a public company but was originally founded by Alexander Graham Bell and is now being run by William Kennard who is the Executive Chairman and John Stankey who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.
