TracFone is what is known as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). This basically means that it doesn’t actually have its own cellular network. It however uses MVNOs to lease bandwidth from existing networks to bring service to their customers.

This results in extensive coverage for their customers. In fact, TracFone actually uses the bandwidth from all three major networks in the US, namely Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
