Why-Apple-Logo-Is-Half-Eaten?-

Apple is one of the most iconic brands in the world with an instantly recognizable logo that is included on almost all of their products.

Now the Apple logo has become a symbol of great devices in the world of technology. In this article, we will talk about how the bit in the Apple logo came to being.

Why Apple Logo Is Half Eaten?

The first Apple logo was designed in 1976 and it features Sir Isaac Newton, sitting under a tree with an Apple about to fall on his head. This seemed too complex so Steve Jobs wanted it replaced.

The designer of the new logo, Robe Janoff designed the apple we all know today. The main reason Janoff added the bit to the logo was to distinguish the fruit from a cherry which looks similar to a full apple with a leaf. He was most likely inspired by the original logo but to make it more simple, he added the bit.

A really funny reason was that, after the Apple fell on Isaac’s head from the original logo, Isaac Newton took a bit into the Apple, giving us the bit in the Apple logo. People also take the word bit to mean a computer term “byte” in the Apple.
